Cash’s Apparel Solutions Case Study
Myriad IT implements the first JD Edwards 9.2 upgrade in Australia for Cash’s Apparel Solutions
About Cash’s Apparel Solutions
With a history of over 170 years, Cash’s Apparel Solutions (Cash’s) is recognised as a leader in the design, development and supply of high quality woven and printed apparel labels and accessories. They have manufacturing and customer service facilities in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Bangladesh, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Myriad IT first partnered with Cash’s over seven years ago to implement their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Since then Myriad IT has continued their partnership with Cash’s to support their journey with innovative, quality and value focused solutions.
Understanding the challenge
Cash’s knew their manufacturing could be optimised with operational issues stemming from inaccurate records. The UK office used a legacy ERP platform with an archaic interface, whilst the head office in Hong Kong had no visibility of the business operations as a whole.
They also have a presence in China, New Zealand, Bangladesh and India with the view to expand to Vietnam and Indonesia, so they needed one enterprise application that could provide the platform for growth and meet the complexity of the business around the globe.
Some key requirements that the new system had to meet included:
- Increasing user productivity with new and enhanced features
- Improving the user experience
- Boosting their competitive advantage and branding
- Taking advantage of new technologies to simplify, secure and update their systems infrastructure
Implementing the solution
Cash’s Apparel Solutions undertook an extensive systems evaluation and decided to upgrade their JD Edwards investment to the latest release, version 9.2. JD Edwards is a global tier-one solution delivered via a cloud platform that could meet their multi-currency and multi-language requirements. It can also provide visibility of operations, and scale to meet the demands of their planned growth.
Myriad IT followed Oracle’s “100 Day Upgrade” methodology which included a thorough process of planning and documenting the project scope and executing the customisations, Integrations, data migration, testing and training phases in seamless and coordinated fashion.
Melissa Halstead, Cash’s IT Manager, praises Myriad IT’s professionalism and flexibility, “Myriad IT worked hard to get the project across the line on the go-live date no matter what. Myriad IT’s Project Manager did a brilliant job, setting clear expectations, co-ordinating resources and maintained open communication at all times.”
Melissa was delighted with how the project team handled everything from start to finish, delivering the project on time and on budget.
Cash’s was proud to be the first JD Edwards customer in Australia to upgrade to the JD Edwards version 9.2.
“Myriad IT delivered a cost effective solution that is faster, easier to use and with capabilities we could never have dreamed of. They’ve helped move our business into the future to become more competitive.”
